A complete overview and roadmap for the greenerPathway process.
Some sustainability strategy teams include their core values and key policies in a Charter document. This document sets the tone for the team and is kept as a key reference point.
The greenerPathway "Synthesis" document summarizes current sustainability activities and measurements. The reason for using a Synthesis document is that, in order to be successful over the long term, your team will need to fully account for what has already been done by your organization. Doing this means that your efforts will take full advantage of sustainability-related investments that have been made, and also enables you to combine efforts with like-minded managers who have work underway.
The greenerPathway Landscape presentation summarizes your team's and your organization's unique perspective on sustainability. The Landscape ideas and brainstorming are modeled on techniques created by strategy innovation expert Gary Hamel (http://www.garyhamel.com/) and the Strategos (http://www.strategos.com/) consulting group. The Wall Street Journal recently ranked Gary Hamel as the world's most influential business thinker, and Fortune magazine has called him "the world's leading expert on business strategy."
The greenerPathway sustainability Program Map illustrates how all of the component elements of a sustainability program will work in concert. The Program Map is based on a study done by IBM Business Consulting Services (http://www-935.ibm.com/services/us/index.wss/ibvstudy/imc/a1017908?cntxt=a1000401).
The greenerPathway Program Component Decision Tree provides a structured list of questions for deciding how a program component should be included in a sustainability program. The decision tree is based on the REGO Decision Tree - a tool created by Ed DeSeve for Vice President Al Gore's Reinventing Government initiative during the Clinton administration.
This template enables you to document what will be needed to implement each of your approved sustainability program components.
The Sustainability Strategy summarizes all of the work done by your sustainability team. It is the final part of the greenerPathway process: once you are done, the document can be submitted to your organization's management for review and approval.
